SOMBFAF's purpose is:

• To educate the public regarding how animal shelters benefit the communities they serve.
• To educate the public regarding the need for animal shelters.
• To dispel myths about euthanasia and animal-housing conditions in animal shelters.
• To educate the public about common issues that animal shelters face, why they need your help, and ways that you can help animals and animal shelters in your community.

We also raise money for animal shelters and animal welfare-related organizations and accept donations over the web and at our fund-raising events.
